Over time, experience and a worldwide market dictated many changes in the sublimely beautiful Jaguar E-Type. During the first seven years of the E-Type’s life, the changes were evolutionary, culminating in the 1968 release of the E-Type Series II, a substantial redesign that also foreshadowed many of the attributes of the Series III V12 models that entered production in 1971.
Federal regulations in the United States, Jaguar’s most important market, drove some of the Series II’s changes, including revised lighting and the shift to a pair of Stromberg carburetors in place of the three SU units seen primarily on earlier E-Types. Externally, the radiator air intake increased substantially in size, a change masked by larger, full-width bumpers that were matched at the rear to meet U.S. low speed impact requirements. The well-proven 4.2-liter E-Type six-cylinder engine was little changed although a twenty-five percent higher capacity water pump was fitted to take advantage of the larger radiator air intake, better adapting the E-Type to hotter climates. The chassis got bigger Girling brakes with three-piston calipers at the front and two-piston calipers at the rear. Inside, reclining seats were now standard.
The evolution of the E-Type meant buyers of the Series II got a much better, more adaptable, comfortable and reliable Jaguar, attributes that complemented its already well-established reputation for superior performance, handling, ride and appearance.
The 1969 Jaguar E-Type Series II 2+2 Coupe featured here is finished in stunning Signal Red with a beautiful new black leather interior. It was recently restored and had a complete engine rebuild performed by a marquee specialist. Accompanying this 2+2 Coupe is its Jaguar Heritage Certificate, owner’s manual, tools and more. We’re proud to offer this investment-grade Series II to the most particular collector or enthusiast who appreciates a well restored example.

By 1960, the Corvette had become a full circle sports car, having graduated from its six-cylinder, GT roots when it was launched in 1953. The 283 cubic inch V8 was available with a dual quad carburetor set up that increased horsepower output to 270. Independent front suspension kept handling in check and allowed the Corvette to run in circles with some of the finest marques from Europe on both the road and track. Styling was pure American, with loathes of chrome and classic roadster lines, keeping with the Corvette’s sporting appearance.
This beautiful Corvette boasts the coveted 270-brake horsepower V8 with the desired 4-speed manual transmission. Additionally, it is equipped with the factory removable hardtop, Wonderbar radio and accessory heater, allowing this Corvette to be enjoyed in all seasons. Unlike many Corvettes of this era, which were finished in jazzy colors, this car is presented in simple and elegant Tuxedo Black with silver coves and a black interior. This exact combination of color and the optional 270 hp 283 V8 engine would only have been produced on a handful of cars built in 1960.
Accompanying this Corvette are several awards from the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS), including a national Top Flight Award. The NCRS is regarded as the final word in Corvette authenticity, with judging standards that are designed to feature extreme attention to detail. NCRS awards are only given to those cars that meet the high standards of judging, performance and operation, meaning this exemplary Corvette is the one to buy. We are proud to offer this incredible Corvette to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who only wants the best. Classic cars have proven to be among the most resilient and rewarding investments in recent years with the Historic Automobile Group Index (HAGI) jumping 39% in 2013 and posting gains of 395-percent over the last 10-years. When the 928 was first launched in 1978, Porsche viewed it as a possible replacement for the 911. While the 911 was and is still today considered a pure sports car, the 928 was a Grand Tourer and one of few Porsche’s to feature a […]
